“We recognise money is always tight for people after the
festive holiday,” said club secretary, Tadek Kopszywa. “And that can mean a day
out at the football can come down the list of spending priorities.
“But this initiative is aimed at encouraging people to
think again about coming along to a game and enjoying themselves when they
might be suffering a dose of the post-Christmas blues."
These hopefully are positive times for Shire who finished
bottom of the Scottish League for five consecutive seasons up to 2007,
inspiring a book about their plight, television documentaries and the
attentions of Jeff Stelling on Soccer Saturday.
Now owned and run by supporters they are hoping to return
