Winchester City FC

Consistently voted as one of the best places to live in the UK, Winchester should be looking good on New Year’s Day when the city’s football club have a big local derby to look forward to.

The Southampton area and beyond seems to be a lively place for football at all levels and a number of clubs work hard to get people through their turnstiles, especially when the Saints are away from home or not in action.

AFC Totton, for example, offered free admission to their game against Bishops Cleeve this Saturday, combining it with a host of Christmas activities (and celebrating with a 6-0 win) and I have featured Sholing FC a number of times on the blog in the past.

Totton are the visitors to Winchester on 1 January, in the Evo-Stik League South West, and the hosts have a number of offers in place.

Anyone coming to their game against Shortwood United on 23 December can come back on New Year’s Day for £5, season ticket holders at Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Eastleigh will pay the same price and Under 16's are free of charge.
