Different Reasons, All 'Pay What You Want'

This Saturday, April 18th, sees four 'Pay What You Want' matches taking place in the Non-League pyramid (there may well be more, please Tweet me if you know of any others) and they are taking place for different, but equally valid reasons.

It's celebration time at Latimer Park as the Evo-Stik Southern Central title will be presented to Kettering Town FC when they host Bedworth United. The Poppies' troubles over the past few years have been the stuff of soap opera at times but their fans are enjoying the club's revival to the full and there should be a great atmosphere this Saturday.

A double celebration in Devon where Barnstaple Town this week played their 2,500th Western League fixture. To mark the occasion, Saturday's fixture against Warminster is a 'Pay What You Want' match and a 4-0 win at Hengrove Athletic on Tuesday means that the Barum are also on the verge of promotion to the Premier League.

At the other end of their various tables are Alfreton Town and Hampton & Richmond Borough and both clubs are looking for big crowds to push them over the line towards safety.

Hampton & Richmond are looking to get 1,000 through the gates of the Beveree Stadium against Bury Town where a win will ensure the hosts are playing Ryman Premier League football again next season.

In the Conference, it doesn't get much bigger than Alfreton's game against Welling with the Kent club having climbed out of the relegation zone, at Alfreton's expense, on Tuesday night by beating Wrexham.

Both sides will be going all out for a win and, once again, fair play to the hosts for extending the 'Pay What You Want' offer to away fans as well.
